Author Bios:
2. Short Bio (50 words):
I grew up in a military family and moved around more often than a gypsy before planting roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I joined the US Navy and roamed beneath the seven seas in a submarine.
3. Medium Bio (100 words):
I grew up in an Air Force family and moved around more often than a gypsy before planting roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With my head always in the clouds, I learned to fly, parachute, and even scuba dive before dropping out of university and enlisting in the US Navy to roam beneath the seven seas in a submarine. When my hitch was up in the Navy, I worked as a postman, an international flight planner for QANTAS, and an animator for Disney before awakening my imagination and becoming a children’s author.
4. Humorous (100 words)
I grew up in a military family and moved around more often than a gypsy. My favorite smell is green, favorite flavor is mist, and favorite day of the week is Funday. I wonder if fish wish they could wink and trees wish they could walk. I think it’s bizarre that your belly button harbors more bacteria than there are birds in Borneo. I believe biographies are boring and think it’s fun to speak in silly-sounding sentences with wacky words that start with the same letters. Finally, I believe in exercising your imagination and secretly staying up past your bedtime.

Speaker Introduction: 130 words (for author events):
For Carey Fessler, growing up in a military family meant constantly moving house more often than a gypsy. With his head always in the clouds, he learned to fly, parachute, and even scuba dive before dropping out of university and enlisting in the US Navy to roam beneath the seven seas in a nuclear submarine.
He worked as a postman, an international flight planner for QANTAS, and an animator for Disney.
He’d always liked creative writing classes in school and decided to return to what he did best … unleashing his imagination to write stories.
In his debut children’s novel, Foiled, Carey Fessler asked the question, ‘How far would an eleven-year-old push herself ... to help a friend and family?’
I now welcome Carey Fessler.
