About:

I grew up in a military family and moved around more often than a gypsy. My favorite smell is green, favorite flavor is mist, and favorite day of the week is Funday. I wonder if fish wish they could wink and trees wish they could walk. I think it's bizarre that your belly button harbors more bacteria than there are birds in Borneo. I believe biographies are boring and think it’s fun to speak in silly-sounding sentences with wacky words that start with the same letters. Finally, I believe in exercising your imagination and secretly staying up past your bedtime.

Tell Me About School-
7th Grade:
Once in 7th Grade, my art teacher gave me an F for drawing cartoons instead of boring old fruit, but years later, I ended up working as an animator for Disney.

In Spanish class, I used to write “NO PASA” at the top of my exams to save the teacher the trouble of doing it herself; yet, I have no problemo ordering from any Mexican restaurant menu, which is always in English of course!

In a Creative Writing class, I wrote my first fiction short story, which was about a warren of wild rabbits that used slingshots to shoot acorns at litterbugs. They were tough bunnies. My English teacher marked me a D for grammar but added an A for imagination. I've been writing and stumbling through grammar ever since.

5 Fun Facts You Didn't Know About Me:
1.  When I was toddler, in the days before you had to wear seat belts, I was riding in the front seat while my mom drove to the store. She turned left and I tumbled right … right out the door and luckily landed headfirst into a snowdrift.

2.  In 5th Grade the principal spanked me with a Ping-Pong paddle for nearly causing a riot in the cafeteria. I started everyone chanting, “We want a refund!” when the cafeteria lady refused to refund everyone’s five cents when we discovered our half-pint milk cartons were frozen solid. I’m still nervous around Ping-Pong paddles to this day.

3.  I started flying lessons when I was 17, got my private pilot’s license when I was 18, and did my first parachute jump when I was 19—just in case the wings of my plane ever snapped off.

4.  I got my scuba certificate when I was 18. While stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, I had a secret dive spot where I’d hand-feed Moray eels, but always counted my fingers when I’d finished.

5.  The submarine I served aboard was designed for breaking through ice, but I can’t tell you anything else about that mission because Santa Claus classified it Top Secret. Pssst! The same type of sub features in my book Shanghaied: Escape from the Blackwolf ;)
